Don's rich management background in
business and military organizations, combined with
consulting and academic experiences, provide a unique
resource for his audiences. Groups he has worked with long
remember his practical solutions to their problems conveyed
in a warm and humorous manner.
He has written extensively in marketing and management and
his articles have appeared in such journals as The Journal
of Internal Business Studies, Journal of Marketing, and the
Journal of Advertising. He co-authored with Dr. Charles
Martin, "Facilitation Skills for Team Leaders", published by
Crisp Publications.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1967 with a
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. After being
commissioned in the U.S. Army, Lt. Hackett served with the
3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry in the Republic of Vietnam. He is
currently serving as a Colonel in the United States Army
Reserve. After receiving his PhD, Dr. Hackett joined the
faculty of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita
State University, Wichita, Kansas, as a Professor of
Marketing. He currently holds a joint assignment as an
Associate Professor of Marketing and Kansas Family business
Fellow. He is the recipient of the prestigious W.S.U.
Regents Award for "Excellence in Teaching." |

Mike Schlappi

|
Mike is the author of two inspirational
books, "Bulletproof Principles for Personal Success" and
"Motivational Leaders." His life story is featured in the
award winning video, "If You Can't Stand Up, Stand Out." As
founder and director of the Wheelchair Sports Foundation, he
provides sports and recreation opportunities for disabled
athletes. He was a Member of the Board of Trustees for the
2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
He has many athletic achievements including four-time
Paralympic Medalist in USA Men's Wheelchair Basketball;
two-time World Champion in Wheelchair Basketball: Olympic
Torch Bearer for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and Monoco
Placard Bearer for Opening Ceremonies. Mike is the only
wheelchair basketball player in the USA to be a member of
the past four Paralympic teams. Mike is also a tennis
champion, winning the U.S. Open in the "A" Division in 1990
and 1994.
Among his many awards, he has received the American Medical
Association's Special People Award and the SGMA (Sporting
Goods Manufacturer of America) Heroes Award. He is also a
member of the NWBA Hall of Fame.
Mike and his wife Tami are the proud parents of five
children and currently reside in Draper, Utah. They enjoy
hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping and being together
as a family. |
